Groove3 Circle Explained® TUTORIAL
Virtual synth expert Larry Holcombe presents a set of comprehensive Circle video tutorials! If you’re curious about Circle’s revolutionary drag-and-drop, color-coded approach to synthesis, this course is the one to watch. Larry takes you through the basics and then runs the gamut, delving into the more advanced features and functions before demonstrating this instrument’s possibilities by building three classic tones from scratch. These videos are for new Circle users.
Larry welcomes you and begins by covering the interface and familiarizing you with the process of loading and saving presets. Then it’s on to the sound sources, where he demonstrates the analog oscillators, wavetable oscillator, and VPS oscillator. You’ll then learn how to mix and route these sources in the Mixer and Output section.
Next, explore the filters (single and dual), including types, frequency and resonance, and series/parallel routing, before moving on to the modulators. These include the envelopes, LFO, and sequencer, each of which can be used to generate dynamic contours in the sound.
Throughout the rest of the course, you’ll learn about the remaining features of Circle, including the Master Effects section, the various tabs (Settings, Keyboard, Patches, Control), and more! Finish off by following along as Larry builds three separate tones: a noise loop, a huge pad, and an analog-style square and saw bass.
