Commix is the 170bpm creative home for George Levings and formerly Guy Brewer. The Commix LP ‘Call to Minds’ holds the title of being the first artist album for historic label Metalheadz. The long player was incredibly well received across the electronic music spectrum. In 2018 George Levings returns as Commix, with a renewed sense of purpose. There is a new backbone regarding the way the music is made; less samples and more hardware based creation with a focus on sound design. This year is going to be a rousing year for Commix, new music has been scheduled for Metalheadz with the sophmore album already in the works. Exciting times for all concerned.
Commix brings the vibes with over 750MB of one shots, loops and sampler patches, all ready and waiting to build tension and bring brooding energy to the table. Over 170 loops contain everything you’ll need to turn heads – emotive Rhodes chords, totally devastating sub bass, razor sharp percussive workouts, clinical drum beats, hyperactive arps and more! Bring real-world context to your track with one of the 20 field recordings, or extend your atmospherics tenfold with one of the contained mind-bending FX loops. Ensure your musical content comes correct each and every time with the included synth and pad loops that are absolutely drenched in the Commix sound. Each loop is tempo and key labelled to ensure you creative ease, simply drop into your favoured DAW and watch the menace take shape.
Over 230 one shots have been expertly crafted and are ready to sequence out of the box. Each sound has been lovingly designed to work in unison with others from the pack – ensuring watertight mixes from the word go. Included here are swift and dangerous drum hits, ethereal pads, cinematic drones & atmospheres, chest-shaking bass hits, mysterious textures and much more. Intriguing and beautiful vocal phrases serve as perfect segue tools, and when used with the many included FX, unsmooth transitions are a thing of the past. Rhodes and synth hits keep things musical in a dreamscape that has a tendency to get dark and dangerous. What’s more, each hit has been carefully mapped to one of 120 soft sampler patches (for Halion, NNXT, EXS24, Sfz and Kontakt), so jamming your favourite sounds on your chosen MIDI instrument could not be easier.
